If birds are in trouble and resist capture, the best way to proceed is for the rescuer to do nothing. Instead they can provide water and food where the birds can reach it, preferably where other animals cannot access it, and leave them be.

You will not be able to rescue every bird that needs help. Here are some options. Until an injured bird can be caught with minimal stress, it should be left alone, protected from predators and humans, and have access to food and water.
